Haitians Are so Poor They Resort to Eating 'Mud... →
With food prices rising, Haiti’s poorest can’t afford even a daily plate of rice, and some take desperate measures to fill their bellies. Fraser Speirs – Spending other people’s money →
I don’t particularly condone piracy. However, given that Bono has made a second career out of advocating the involuntary transfer of capital from one group to another, it’s more than a bit rich to hear his manager whining about these ultra-rich rock stars not making enough money.

An AppleScript to send from NetNewsWire 3.1.1 to... →
Here’s an Applescript that sends the currently selected headline from NetNewsWire 3.1.1 to Tumblr. It does little error checking, and requires the user to create a new keychain key for http://www.tumblr.net, as there is some issue with the .com domain that I haven’t figured out yet.

Please Pirate My Sundance Film →
Forget Sony Classics. Try getting your film picked up by online movie pirates. Sundance films, present and past, simply do not register in the online pirate world—unless they are one of the few that have already made it big. Iraq veterans say that war crimes are encouraged... →
“The killing of innocent civilians is policy,” veteran Mike Blake said. “It’s unit policy and it’s Army policy. It’s not official policy, but it’s what’s happens on the ground everyday. It’s what unit commanders individually encourage.” “These decisions are coming from the top down,” veteran Matt Howard said.
